William Turner, The Fighting Temeraire, 1839, Part of the National Gallery Collection.
To coincide with the arrival of the National Gallery Art Road Trip in Sheerness, we are inviting practising fine artists to submit three works to the Sheppey Summer show exhibition taking place at the Rose Cottage from 14th June- 14th July 2024.
Works can be of any subject matter, e.g. traditional landscapes which depict the Island and the wider North Kent coastline, or depict local nature & wildlife are welcome. Contemporary artists whose work focuses on identity, social and personal narratives are also welcome. The concept for this exhibition is loosely based on the Royal Academy summer show, i.e. a diverse range of high quality medium – smaller artworks, hung salon style.
